The Mollusc Dimension is a British-Chinese multidisciplinary artist. His colourful graphic memoir "The Weird & Wonderful Surviveries of Squid Horse" explores mental health, grief and growing from the perspective of a neurodivergent, queer, trans-masculine, non-binary creator. It was supported by Arts Council England and shortlisted by The Selfies Book Awards for non-fiction. The audio-described version will be released in summer 2025. The Mollusc Dimension’s art, poetry and writing have been published by Aghh! Zine, Bluebird Anthology, Ink Sweat & Tears, Open Minds Project (now Shaded Writers) and others. In 2022, his music video "Asians Have Feelings Too" won the “Favourite Award” at the Trans Pride Brighton Film Event, after its premiere as part of his debut solo music show at Rich Mix, London. The Mollusc Dimension has been interviewed about his comic memoir by Jun Kit Man (Resonate Voices), PJ Samuels (Shaded Writers), Alex Fitch (Panel Borders/Cartoon County), Lauren Deborah (MDSML podcast) and others.
His work has been published by Aghh! Zine, BESEA.N, Bluebird Anthology, Covert (forthcoming), Ink Sweat & Tears, Trans Actual and others. He’s performed for: Bitten Peach UK (RVT), ESEA Sisters (Southbank Centre), FOC it up Comedy, London Trans Choir (The Vagina Museum), Quiplash (Mighty Hoopla), Moonfest (Trinity Centre, Bristol), Trans Pride Brighton (Brighton Dome) and many more.
Drawn to the feminist DIY art scene in the early 2000s, The Mollusc Dimension has self-published 20+ zines and tabled at fairs since 2011 (including LDN Queer Mart, Thought Bubble, Helsinki Comics Fest, ESEA Gather ’N’ Grow and ESEA Cultural Festival). The Mollusc Dimension has given talks for Queer China UK and LDComics and run drawing/creative workshops for Bi Poets Online, EVR ESEA, Queer Neurodivergent Writers Group, The Queery, WIP (forthcoming) and others.
